Villa La Chiusa has parts
dating back to the 17th century and parts to the 18th
century when it was enlarged and refined with
decorations.
It is situated on the level countryside in Lucca area, with
a large lovely Italian garden full of flowers, fruit trees,
and old lemon pots. All the garden is surrounded by an old
garden-wall keeping it nicely secluded from the outside
world.
This elegant villa has been in the family “for ever“. In the
old days it was part of a vast estate with the homes for
farmers behind it. All the complex was called “La Corte”,
a typical lucchese country settlement still existing in some
areas of Lucca countryside.

The owner is a
creative lady who is still maintaining the traditional
manufacturing of old lucchesi silk fabrics for house
decoration. Her studio is located in the lemon-house, an
annex to the villa. |

It is consequently understandable the way she
recently fully restored the house, equipping it with all
the modern appliances, but yet maintaining the traditional
charm and character of a typical period villa, with
terracotta tiled floors, and frescoed rooms.
Antique precious
furniture and refined upholstery and decoration make the
villa elegant and charming, a special stay for art lovers. |
